look inside

March, 2008

there are a lot of definitions about what constitutes a good photograph, or good photography in general. but i don’t really want to go into that, there’s no point. But i do feel that a photograph should – i don’t know- allow you a glimpse of something that you maybe wouldn’t have noticed yourself.

anyhoo, this photograph gives you an insight in a very literal way, half the building was torn down, so this photograph is quite possible the only remainder of that queer week in which you could see the insides of the gutted building before they patched it up with what passes for architecture in these parts.

i liked it better when it was open. like a doll house, allowing you your own stories.
